Urthboy (Australia)

Tim Levinson, aka Urthboy, is an emcee and producer hailing from Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains, Australia. A founding member of seminal Aussie hip-hop collective The Herd and co-founder of record label Elefant Traks, Levinson is a prolific artist, who has himself released five solo albums.

The first to admit to his involvement in petty crime and run-ins with law enforcement in his youth, Levinson like so many before him sought music and, specifically, hip-hop as an escape from what could have easily become a troubled path. Alongside his many musical accomplishments, Levinson is well-known for his social and political awareness and outspokenness in the conversations around human rights, Indigenous health and education, and Australian refugee policy.
